You need to use heaters and blowers when your outside temperature either drops below 14° F or rises above 120° F. This is more for the lens than the camera. |

You should use back light compensation when your camera is facing a door or window and your object is in front and the light is coming from behind. Back light compensation then adjusts the image so the object you are focusing on will have enough light to see all the details and the background gets over exposed. (The important item is the object you are trying to see not the background.) |
