Our networks are used in large and small municipalities such as Philadelphia and St. Cloud, Florida, and in video surveillance applications such as industrial sites, downtown tourist areas, “virtual lifeguard stations” on beaches, and more.
Many industrial security applications for campuses, building sites, or industrial plants have until now been uneconomic or infeasible due to long cable runs or hostile environments. MetroMesh-based solutions can deliver digital video surveillance at 10-30% of the cost of conventional alternatives, and on an unprecedented scale. ScanSource Security resellers have a great opportunity to combine their expertise in video and security solutions with the wireless broadband capabilities of Tropos Networks products to create new solutions for their customers. Tropos has tested our networks with IP cameras from Sony, Axis, Panasonic, Bosch, and other manufacturers. We also work with complementary product vendors such as ONSSI, IP Configure, AvaLAN and many others.
Tropos MetroMesh routers can be deployed in the industry’s lowest node density, providing the most economical way to implement a high-performance Wi-Fi network. Each MetroMesh router provides wireless connectivity to standard 802.11b/g clients and extends the coverage area of the Wi-Fi network. There are three different models that can be used to configure the wireless network: the Outdoor Router (5210), the Indoor Router (3210), and the Mobile Router (4210).
